In their 2023 Summer Reliability Assessment, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) found that our country is at risk of energy short falls this year. With higher demands for energy in the summer months, and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposal to, “drastically reduce fossil fuels in new and existing power plants,” the new proposal would jeopardize reliability by undermining always available energy sources in this country.
